The Land pattern muskets were fixed to the carriage with pins, rather than bands as used by most other European manufacturers, including the Dutch and French whose muskets were preferred to British ones by the Continentals. Not sure why the British used pins, exactly; they just did.

That and the greater variations in personal kit (backpacks etc) aside, there is no reason for not using Continentals as "unlaced" Regulars, or as Provincials (Loyalist regulars). The cut and style of the coat, and the use of overalls, were pretty much universal.

You should contact Alec at Front Rank and ask when he plans Saratoga British, as it would save you a lot of work if they are coming out soon (he's just released Continental riflemen, so the chances are they might be next on the list).
