No, Forlorn Hope is a neat set of ECW rules written at 1:33 figure scale, so most battalia work out about the 18-22 size. They were intended for 25mm. All combat is worked out using a ratio of pike to shot rather than having the individual subunits fight themselves. So all figures in a unit shoot and fight. A simple solution but one that works very well. Pete did a set of 6mm amendments (well he would, wouldn't he). The 1st edition was written late 80s, a 2nd came out about 1994 (just to clear up the typos). The third edition came out 2002. The rules haven't really changed, just the packaging. The 3rd edition had lots of additional notes on historical forces, coat colours and a sheet of free flags in various scales. More of a complete package similar to 2nd edition GdeB. I started serious gaming in the late 70s using WRG Renaissance by George Gush, but switched to FH as soon as they came out, and I've never used anything else since.

The Polemos set is a new project. I've seen various comments from play-testers singing their praises, and from what I've seen on Pete's website the GNW/WSS set has taken my fancy.

Cheers, Gary
